First Day ^^
The babies are home! We just set up the first floor, 2 x 4 grids. I hope they don't mind. I'll expand later sometime. I'm thinking I might build more cages, maybe a 2 x 6? Or even one that's L-shaped (Anti's idea). But yeah, that's for later. They sure like munching on hay. I can't wait 'till KM's comes! Tomorrow we'll go to For Other Living Things and pick up more stuff, including Oxbow hay and pellets.
Kona is the bravest hehe. Only she has ventured out, sniffed things, munched on pellets, drank water, eaten hay, etc for extended periods of time while humans were in the room. The other two did come out of hiding to take rinsed cilantro out of my hand. Watching it all disappear into their mouths nibble by nibble was so cute! The sisters really tried to grab each others' share lol.
Anti asked if Kitty could go in the room if he was held, so I agreed. Kitty just sniffed around the cage, but Anti didn't let him go between it and the wall since he couldn't keep a good grip if he did. Kitty ignored the girls' vocalizations and wandered over to the closet where he inspected their supplies, rustling a bag (they wheeked for a second). I'm glad he didn't, like, try to jump into the cage and eat them :P He's a good Kitty ^^
They sure nap a lot! Even watching them nap is cute, though I suspect it will be rather boring once the novelty wears off. I could watch them munch hay for hours, really...and I love when they talk out loud :D Other than not feeling all that secure, they seem to be doing ok. It was warming up around here and the temperature got as high as 81F in there so we shut the blinds and opened the windows. It's 73F now, whew. I don't want them getting too warm!
I like having them around. I like it a lot. Many thanks to Cyn, and to the former caretaker. And Anti did a lot to help set up everything too. I don't think I could have done it alone. He's gonna be a good step/dad ^^ Now if only he'd be able to find our camera -_-
